DETAIL of THE BERMUDA CLIPPER
The Sikorsky
S-42B, NC16736, originally the Pan American Clipper III. This aircraft was
69 feet long compared to the DC-3's 64 feet but could carry twice the
passengers, twice as far, and at the same speed. This aircraft was used on
the North Atlantic survey flights originally and then renamed The Bermuda
Clipper and used on the Baltimore/New York to Bermuda runs.
